Prizes

The 21. Plasma Technology Conference will host the award ceremony and lecture of the prestigious Rudolf Seeliger Prize awarded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Plasmatechnologie e.V. This year we have the honor of being part of the award ceremony for Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Awakowicz from Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.

Moreover, the conference will host the Diels-Planck-Lecture and Medal award ceremony of Kiel University’s research priority area Kiel Nano, Surface and Interface Science (KiNSIS). The prize will be awarded to Prof. Dr. Annemie Bogaerts from University of Antwerp, Belgium.

Conference dinner

The conference dinner will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 19:00 in the Lagom located on the Kiellinie at the west side of the bay. Note that the number of participants at the dinner is limited. A bus ride to the restaurant will be organized for the conference participants.

KiNSIS reception

Following the Diels-Planck-Lecture, a get-together and complementary reception will be offered on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. It will offer the unique opportunity to exchange with conference participants and other members of research priority area Kiel Nano, Surface and Interface Science (KiNSIS).

Guided Tours Kiel Nanolab

As the central institution for nano science and surface research at Kiel University, the Kiel Nano Laboratory offers modern processing facilities including a class 100/1000 cleanroom with a total area of 300 square meters. During the Wednesday and Thursday coffee breaks, PT21 participants will have the opportunity to attend short guided tours. More information will be announced during the conference welcome and in the Book of Abstracts.
